ADG Indigenous Outcomes Progress Report June 2021

Airport Development Group’s (ADG) $5M solar generation project consists of rooftop solar arrays across Darwin International Airport assets, including the Darwin International Airport Terminal, the Cold Storage Facility and several businesses operating on Osgood Road.

As part of the planning for these works ADG considered Indigenous training and employment opportunities and aimed to achieve 10% engagement across the project. The project is currently sitting at 15% engagement, well above our target.

The three (3) Indigenous workers employed on the project covers a range of skills and trades, including general construction, scaffolding, and electrical.

Positive outcomes were achieved through partnerships ADG coordinated with contractors BT Energy our principal contractor and DICE, Supply Nation certified. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to engage local, long term Indigenous businesses.

Longer term it is ADG’s goal is to replicate similar business partnerships with our contractors and Indigenous businesses to deliver a range of projects, whilst achieving positive outcomes for ADG and Indigenous employment.

ADG will continue to engage and work closely with Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and the NT Indigenous Business Network (NTIBN) to identify future training and employment opportunities across the business.
